The ski-connection to the Arlberg
The Lechtal valleyꞌs direct proximity to the Arlberg gives rise to many shared stories from the past and, also in terms of tourism, it brings many advantages. Accordingly, back in the 1970s the idea was born to link up the two skiing areas: Lech-Zürs and Warth-Schröcken. This took a long time and construction began in 2013.
Holzgau and the upper Lechtal valley were in fact always closely connected with Schröcken, the neighbouring parish in Vorarlberg. Using the extended road, the Lechtalꞌs skibus also operates at regular intervals; skibus use is free of charge. Connecting the two Vorarlberg skiing areas of Warth-Schröcken and Lech-Zürs respectively, by means of the Auenfeldjet, has further extended the range of pistes on offer, making this area into one of the Alpine region’s finest skiing destinations.
Advantage for our winter-sport guests in Holzgau:
4 skiing areas in the Lechtal (Bach-Stockach, Holzgau, Elbigenalp and Stanzach)
14 lift facilities and fabulous pistes in the neighbouring ski area of Warth-Schröcken
33 lift facilities and a diverse range of pistes because the region is linked up with the Lech-Zürs skiing area
