The Lech valley is widely known as a beautiful hiking region, not only during the summer months. Also during the colder months there are numerous sights worth seeing. At the Talboden, you can use over 100 km of perfectly prepared tracks to wander around the valley. These are romantic trails, which are perfect for everyone of our guests, no matter how old they are. These trails start at our towns, lead through meadows, into the woods and past Lech. They are perfect for gaining new strength and enjoy the healthy mountain air.

The origins and the actual age of snow shoes is unkown. The Greek historian and philosopher Strabon (63 BC – 24 BC) wrote, that the inhabitants of the CauCasus-region used flat leather surfaces in order not to sink into the snow. Armenians used round wood surfaces. What we know, however, is that people living in snow areas have always used snow shoes.
